UNIT 1:The Nineties

The nineties was a decade which people remember for many reasons. People had more money and more free time and also, a good thing that happened was the reunification of Germany. There were some bad times, like the Collapse of the Soviet Union, Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait and the Gulf War, Balkan War, etc.

In the world of music, the styles like rap, rock, hip hop and grunge bands were very popular. The most important musicians were: Madonna, Mecano, Dire straits, the Spice Girls and Kurt Cobain. Also, in Catalonia, started the Catalan Rock. In the world of films the most important were: Pulp fiction, Forrest Gump, the Schindler list, Matrix, Braveheart, The King Lion, Jurassic Park, Toy story, Sleepy hollow and others.

The fashion of the 90’ was: Wear a volume hairstyle, wide t-shirts, jeans waist up and also wide at the end and the shoes were quite big.

By the end of the decade, the world changed. It was because in 1990, internet appears and it became popular. The years after the 1990, a lot of people had a computer and internet at home.
